For Cinco de Mayo we spent the evening at Ben and Bethany's. We had a traditional mexican meal complete with pinata. James loved it, especially all the candy. It was insane all the candy that was in that thing. He still talks about it. We were a little worried that letting him hit it in the first place would lead to him hitting other things and expecting candy, but that hasn't been the case so far.

Duathlon - May 6th. Ben decided last minute to do this race to help with his training. I was used to his longer races so this one was super fast. The best part was when James got away from us and ran onto the finish lane while other people were still racing. He is way too fast for a 2 year old. Everyone there got a good laugh out of it.

At Ben and Bethany's, they've gotten Mackayla's room all set up so when we were there James liked looking at all the stuff. He especially like the papasan chair, he was totally at home.

In our sideyard, he'll play with this for hours.

Ben was working on a project and James "had to" help. It was so cute watching him try and carry the wood that was taller than he was. He loves going to Home Depot which is great since we go there a lot.

Cannon Beach
It was a typical, windy, cold day at the beach. My parents had bought a pirate kite that we hadn't been able to fly yet, it took off so fast it actually melted the plastic spool. We brought one of James' pirate ships and he loved watching the waves take it away.

The Children's Musuem
We went with two of James' friends Conner and Noah. The last time we had come the water feature was closed, so of course James was thrilled that it was open. We spent the most time there. His second favorite part was the "sand" pit. I love being here in Sherwood because there are so many boys his age that he can play with.

James and his big boy bed!
Nanna and Pappa bought him pirate bedding so the transition was super easy! He loves his bed :)
|
His first cheeseburger, he always asks for one but he'd never eat it. He went to town on this.

For our anniversary we had a nice dinner with James before we went out. I bought him a little bottle of sparkling cider that he guzzled down. It still amazes me how grown up he is. It's nice to have family dinner together.

Ben was tired so he leaned his chair back while I was driving. James thought it was funny and liked playing with his hair and saying "wake up!"

Sailing on Memorial Day. It was the first time James had actually been sailing. It wasn't the best day wind wise but they had fun. He's better love sailing with all the trips my parents are planning this summer.
