Trip to Utah!
We came out to spend my birthday and the 4th of July with Ben's family. Since the last time we came there were three new cousins so it was a lot fun and a lot of kids :)
Grandma and Grandpa O. This was their first time meeting Avery :)
Happy 4th of July!
We had a bbq at the Westenhavers and then lots of fireworks.
The long drive home - Avery was either asleep or crying so it was an awesome drive. James was an angel so we rewarded him with lots of candy :)
Another great sailing day!
David was in town from New York and it was my mom's birthday so we had a celebration on the boat. We had some really good wind, so much in fact that the birthday cake we brought was sliding all over the table downstairs. It almost landed on James which would have been hilarious :) Avery was an absolute punk on the boat. She did not want to be held and when we let her crawl around she would try and go over the edge. It was awesome having David in town - James always misses him and talks about how his cool uncle David buys him all this stuff from Diesel.
Conner had his birthday party at the park by the zoo. I'm so glad that James has friends that like pirates as much as he does :)
We went with Michelle and Noah down to Salem to the Gilbert's Discovery Village. We had never been there before and were really impressed. There were a couple big houses that had all these "discovery" rooms. There was a bubble room, a room that had a huge stomach you could crawl through, one with some knight dress up clothes and another with all these ball ramps and stuff. Another house had a fun grocery store. In the middle of the houses there was this huge playground park thing with this super tall wood maze slide thing. The boys of course had a blast and that made the drive worth it.
At the Sherwood festival parade. We also have the best seats since it goes right by our house!
We took the kids down to the Enchanted Forest which was another first. They had this storybook village that had all these displays of fairy tales and stuff. Some of them were kind of scary like the Hansel and Gretel one. The kids thought the witch was fun (there was a slide inside). After we got through the village part we had lunch which was an experience all on it's own. Then we went over to the rides. James and I went on the bobsled together and it kind of scared him but he had fun and he was very brave.
We spent a nice friday night with friends at the Washington County Fair. We saw the biggest bull I have ever seen in my life. His name was Bubba and he weighed 3900 pounds! The kids loved petting the animals (with us moms not sparing the antibacterial hand washing in-between). The dads won these inflatable hammers and we let the boys loose with them. We were laughing so hard! Then they went on this dump truck ride. I love carnivals so I wanted to go on all the crazy, spinning, flipping rides. It was a blast.
We've had a crazy, busy month! Bethany and Mackayla came along with us to the Wilsonville fountains - it was a first for them and they all had a lot of fun. Avery loves the water and would scream every time we even tried to take her out of it.
