Visit from the Thompsons!
We started out the month with a visit from Ben's sister Arianne, her husband Kelly and their two kids Daphne and Beck. They were only going to be in town for a few days and we made sure those days were jam packed! Saturday we left Avery and Beck home with a babysitter and headed downtown. We started at the Saturday Market, got some lunch at Rock Bottom and attempted to watch the Flug Tag but it was insanely crowded. We could barely see the screen! We headed over to Hayden Island to meet my parents for an afternoon of sailing, since we were early we killed some time at the carousel. Apparently it's the biggest one in the country as well as the fastest. Ben was still feeling woozy an hour later. Sailing was awesome. Ben had the helm the entire time and we had some incredible wind.
The next day we spent some time at the Japanese Gardens, which probably wasn't the greatest idea with the kids - at least they liked the fish! We finished off with a picnic in the Rose Gardens where we were surprised with a free concert in the park. We couldn't stay the entire time because the kids were getting antsy but it was a nice treat.
Ben and Kelly spent some time golfing, we took the kids to Safari Sams, Ben read Breaking Dawn while Ari read Twilight and the kids ran around like crazy. Ari and I went out for a girl's night while the guys took the kids to the Wilsonville fountains. They had quite a lot of fun there and were completely worn out by the time they got home. It was so nice having family in town - we miss Ben's family a lot and wish they lived closer.

Birthday week and visit from David!
August is a crazy birthday month for my family. Paul, Dad and David are all in one week, with Bethany having hers the next week. David came to town to interview at Nike and got the job! He'll be moving back in less than a month, we are way excited to have him back.

Hood to Coast
Ben was team captain this year for his team the Killer Bunnies. His best friend Seth flew up from Arizona and my dad ran it as well. It's a crazy race but it sounded like everyone had fun. I was a bit nervous having him gone a week before my due date but it all turned out ok. Ben keeps trying to talk me into it, maybe if I ever grew to love running :)

I wanted to have a fun evening before this new little girl came so we took the kids to Chucke Cheeses. Well, actually, I pretty much sat around while Ben chased down the kids. James had been asking us to go here for months and I think he was a bit overwhelmed. He had this look on his face like he was trying to take everything in at once. Avery has been loving horses lately and was excited to ride the little carousel, until it started, then she freaked out. Once we got home we took some pictures of the kids and my belly, hopefully this girl will be here any day now!
