Since James' birthday is so close to Christmas we decided to have his friend party in January. He picked an Indiana Jones theme and invited five of his friends. I found this fun idea on a blog about a treasure hunt. Ben, acting as Indiana, told the boys that his arch nemesis had stolen his treasure and if they all helped, he would share it with them . They each got a bag with their name on it to put the clues in. First they had to wrap someone up like a mummy and find the clue in the toilet paper roll. Then they had to brave the snake pit and find the rolled up clues there. Then they went to crocodile creek to get the clues weighed down by rocks in the water. My personal favorite was the banquet hall where they had to dig through snake intestines, lizard eyeballs and monkey brains to find the last clue. The kids were completely disgusted by that. The last clue led to the treasure chest where there were goody bags filled with candy and stuff. After cake and presents the boys took over the house, acting out every scene of the movies that they had seen. The girls were with my parents all morning so we didn't have to worry about them getting trampled. It was a lot of fun and James is still talking about it.
