Some good friends of ours were headed up to Seattle to go to a Mariners game so we tagged along for the weekend. James and I went to the game while Ben played in the pool at the hotel with the girls. The next day we went sight-seeing. When Ben and I were dating we had gone to Seattle once and walked from Safeco field to the Space Neetle, stopping at all the touristy spots on the way. Let me just say that doing all the touristy things with three kids is not as fun :) The stroller barely fit through the crowds in Pike's Place so we scrapped that. We did stop and get the awesome donuts though! We walked down to the Pirate store that is always a must-go-to, had lunch and then hopped on a ferry to Bainbridge Island. We had to take a picture of our navigation screen while on the boat! We stopped at a park and let the kids run around until the rain started coming down. We missed the ferry going back by 1 minute, literally, so we strolled around some super cute toy and game stores while we waited. The wind going back was insane, Ben really wanted a picture of the kids and the poor things were trying to find shelter from it. After getting lost in a seedy part of downtown Seattle we went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. The kids loved it! There were hidden animals all over the place, the food was good and it was a lot of fun. After dinner we made the long drive home. Well, Ben drove while the kids and I slept :)
Avery wanted to wear her recital costume and dance around Briella, James had to join in, of course!
A day at the Oregon Gardens! Avery loved pushing the stroller, even when it was pulling her down the slight decline. I love Oregon! We have so many beautiful places here!
For some reason the kids love cuddling all together on my bed, not that I'm complaining or anything. James wanted to take some pictures - so here is what three kids climbing all over me looks like!
Ben got a special wand to make huge bubbles, so we tested it out at Nana's house. It was a huge hit!
T-ball!!
James has been waiting a long time for this! He absolutely loves it. The first practice was awful, it was FREEZING cold and the poor boys were shivering so bad. That was the only bad weather day we had. He's such a team player. He's always encouraging the other boys and telling them "good game." I love being a baseball mom and hope that he plays this sport for many years, even Ben doesn't like it as much :)
8 months!
Ben took James for a father and sons camp-out at the beach. Afterwards they went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory where they were just supposed to get some ice cream, when they happened upon a car show. Avery really wanted to go and didn't understand why it was "boys only". I tried to make it a fun weekend, just us girls, and I think I pulled it off :) My boys came home dirty and smelly but happy!
First sail of the summer!
It was perfect weather, not too hot, not too cold. The wind was blowing just right, the kids behaved. Briella slept almost the entire time (YAY!) The only downside was that I was vigilant with sunscreen for the kids but not for myself and suffered for it. We're so glad the kids all love it, it makes it a lot easier to enjoy :)
The kids first time on a slip-n-slide!
Avery would cautiously walk down it and then plop down at the end (except for the one time that Ben "helped" her). James would run and slide on his knees as far as he could. They had a blast and I'm sure this thing is going to make quite a few appearances this summer.
